Frequently Asked Questions
How do I access my courses and learning materials?
Once you log in to the platform, you will be directed to your personal dashboard. From there, select your enrolled programme to view all available modules. Each module contains lectures, readings, assignments, and additional resources organised in a structured learning path.
Where can I track my progress and completed modules?
Your progress is automatically tracked within each course and displayed on your dashboard. You can monitor completed modules, ongoing activities, and upcoming content in real time.
Who should I contact for technical issues?
If you experience any technical difficulties (such as login issues, access errors, or platform performance problems), you can submit the "Contact us" form above.
For faster assistance, please provide a clear description of the issue along with screenshots where possible. Our technical support team will review your request and respond promptly to help resolve the problem.
Where can I find my schedule and upcoming deadlines?
Your dashboard provides an overview of your schedule, including upcoming sessions, assignment deadlines, and key academic milestones.
What should I do if I cannot access a course or resource?
If you encounter difficulties accessing a course or specific material, first try refreshing the page or logging out and back into your account.
If the issue persists, please contact technical support by submitting the "Contact us" form above and including details such as the course name, module, and the type of issue encountered. This will help the team resolve the problem more efficiently.
How can I contact faculty or programme support?
You can contact faculty members and programme teams through the platform’s built-in messaging tools or via the contact information provided in your course or programme section.
They are available to support you with academic questions, guidance on coursework, and general programme-related enquiries.
Where can I find guidelines for my project or research work?
Guidelines for projects, dissertations, or research work are available within your programme area or specific course modules. These include instructions, expectations, and submission requirements.
If you need further clarification, you are encouraged to contact your academic supervisor or programme team, who will provide personalised guidance throughout your work.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I find my assigned courses, and how are they organised?
You can find your assigned teaching courses in two places. In the Instructor Portal, go to My Teaching Courses and select the relevant course card. Alternatively, open Courses from the left-hand menu and use the Course Manager.
When you open a course, the Course Player displays the content in weekly sections. A typical week includes an overview, readings, a presentation, a discussion topic, a live-session link, a recorded lecture, a non-graded knowledge check and a weekly feedback form.

What are the Learners and Discuss tabs, and which communication channel should I use?
The Learners tab shows who is enrolled in the course. The Discuss area is the course discussion forum and should be used for questions and answers that may help the whole group. Use the LMS Inbox for private or individual follow-up. During a live session, use Zoom chat or spoken discussion for immediate questions.
Can I reorganise or replace official course content, and what should I do if something is missing or outdated?
Official course content, structure, visibility and settings are managed centrally. Do not rename, reorganise, move or replace official content yourself. Do not use materials, copied resources or live-session links from an earlier cohort unless they have been confirmed as current.
If anything is missing, outdated, unclear, inaccessible or inconsistent with your teaching assignment, submit a Support Request Form.
What should I check before teaching a session?
Confirm the correct course, cohort or group, week and teaching section. Review what learners studied previously, what you will teach and what comes next. This helps you connect your session to the wider course, avoid repetition and prepare learners for the following topic.
Also check LMS messages, course comments, slides, readings, handouts, activity instructions, due dates and live-session details. Confirm the session title, date, time, time zone and link.
How should I prepare for and open a live session?
Join approximately 15 minutes early. Open the correct course and teaching section in the LMS, and have your slides, resources and learner instructions ready. Check your microphone, speakers, camera, screen sharing, captions, transcription and recording settings, where required.
Before sharing your screen, close email, private messages, gradebook pages, learner personal information and unrelated tabs.
At the start of the session, welcome learners and confirm the course and session title. Connect the previous topic to the purpose of the current session and explain what comes next. Show learners the exact LMS path to the session materials and explain how they should ask questions during and after the session.
How should I manage questions, missing files and late arrivals during teaching?
Use Zoom chat or spoken discussion for live questions, the LMS Inbox for private follow-up and the course discussion forum for answers that may help the whole group. Check questions at agreed pauses rather than continuously, and combine repeated questions into one clear response.
If a learner cannot find a file, state or show the exact LMS path and direct them to the official item rather than sending a separate copy. If a learner joins late, continue without interrupting the session flow. Direct them to the relevant LMS section and remind them that the recording can be reviewed once it becomes available.
How should I close a session and follow up afterwards?
Before ending the session, ask learners to open the exact LMS activity that comes next. Clearly state the task, deadline and support channel. Record any unanswered questions or issues requiring follow-up.
After the session, check Zoom notes, course comments, discussions, LMS messages and assignment or activity comments. Reply to outstanding questions and post one shared clarification when the same answer will help several learners. Repeat the exact LMS path, task, deadline and support channel, and record anything the programme team or next instructor needs to know.
Is there a recommended template for a follow-up message?
A Suggested template is:
Subject: Follow-up after [Session Name]
LMS path: [Week / Session / Activity]
Task: [What learners need to complete]
Deadline: [Date / Time / Time Zone]
Help: [Agreed communication channel if learners cannot access the item]
What learner information should I avoid displaying or sharing?
Do not display or send unnecessary learner names, grades, private messages, submissions or personal information. Before sharing a screenshot or other evidence with the support team, remove, crop or hide any learner data that is not needed to investigate the issue.
When should I request support, and what information should I include?
Contact support when something is missing, unclear, inaccessible or not working, particularly when it affects teaching, learner access, live-session delivery, assessments, submissions, feedback or grades.
Before sending the email, confirm the course, cohort or group, week, session and exact item affected.
Check that you entered through the official Virtual Campus link and are viewing the current course space. Where available, check the learner view or visibility indicators. Note whether the issue affects one learner, several learners or the whole class.
