About Ideal-Cities

IDEAL-CITIES is a research and innovation initiative developing intelligent, trustworthy and sustainable urban IoT ecosystems. The project brings together universities and industry partners to design data-driven solutions that support circular economy practices, improve city services and enhance the quality of life for citizens across Europe.

1. Platform Development

Create an open modular platform that supports secure, resilient and scalable IoT and participatory sensing applications

2. Secure Framework

Provide tools and patterns that help developers build trustworthy, privacy-preserving and sustainable IoTPS applications.

Optimise resource use and extend device lifecycles through intelligent monitoring of location, condition and availability.

4. Smart Applications

Develop two real-world IoTPS applications that enhance assisted mobility and citizen safety in urban environments.

Work closely with urban and disability communities to shape requirements, test solutions and validate platform impact.

Enable reliable, contextual, real-time information exchange between citizens and authorities to improve urban wellbeing.

Role of EPBS in Ideal-Cities

Research Support

Contribute analytical insights on smart city challenges, feeding evidence into platform design and evaluation.
